Global natural rubber output in August 2012 is expected to grow
1.4% from a year ago, much slower than the 8.3% growth rate posted in August
2011, said the Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries in its monthly
bulletin released Tuesday.
Low production is also expected in October
this year, added the ANRPC. In October this year, some 915,000 metric tons of
natural rubber is expected to be produced, a 3.8% decline in output from a year
earlier. In October 2011, natural rubber output was 19.0% higher on year.
ANRPC forecasts global natural rubber production to hit 10.83 million
tons this year. This latest forecast is in line with its last prediction in
July.
ANRPC member countries account for 93% of global natural rubber
output.
