1. JPMorgan Profit Beats Expectations, $1.27 vs $1.21 Forecast in Second Quarter

2. Jobless Claims Drop to 405,000; Retail Sales Core Unchanged; Producer Prices Fall 0.4%, Ex-Food and Energy Up 0.3%

3. Stocks opened higher Thursday after news weekly jobless claims fell last week, adding to optimism following stronger-than-expected earnings from bank titan JPMorgan.
4.Stocks shaved most of their gains Thursday after Bernanke said the Federal Reserve is not prepared to take further action on the economy, trimming back from an earlier rally from positive economic news as well as stronger-than-expected earnings results from JPMorgan.
