A mysterious high-flyer—who has been described as a foreign exchange currency trader and a London businessman—had himself a good time this weekend at Liverpool club Playground.
The Sun is reporting
that the man spent around $200,000 on a 30 liter bottle of Armand de Brignac
Midas, a huge golden bottle of champagne that weighs in at nearly 100
pounds.
It took two employees of the bar
to carry the bottle to the trader's table, and the
DJ played the opening music to 2001: A Space Odyssey as the bottle made its way
to its buyer, according to The Sun.
After, the trader apparently shared the bottle with everyone at the VIP
section, as there was no way his entourage of 10 could have finished
it.The anonymous man also spent around $95,000 on other drinks, including two 4.5 liters of Grey Goose. With his tip of around $30,000, he spent about $300,000 total that night.
