Iris clarifies subsidy scheme issue

Iris Corp Bhd yesterday said it had never formed the alleged “Maybank-Iris Consortium” for the implementation of thenational subsidy scheme. The company said Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) was appointed by the government toundertake the management of the project. “Maybank was desirous of acquiring the computer hardware, software,systems and services, which were capable of meeting the requirements to implement the project, and henceappointed Iris on a turnkey basis to provide the requisite technical solutions. As the government did not wish to proceed with the project, the company was remunerated by Maybank for all completed scope of works”.
