1. Mortgage Application Jumped 12.8 Percent Last Week

2. Stocks slipped slightly at the open Wednesday as investors took a breather following two days of gains to see if EU officials could come up with a plan to deal with the region's debt crisis during a summit at the end of the week.
JPMorgan and Caterpillar led the Dow laggards.

3.Stocks erased most of their early losses in thin trading Wednesday but gains were limited as investors remained cautious ahead of a key EU summit at the end of the week.
Most S&P sectors were in negative territory, led by energy. 

4. Stocks spiked in the final minutes of trading Wednesday following a report that the G20 is considering a $600 billion IMF lending program to euro zone, but came off their highs after the IMF denied the report. Investors were also closely waiting for the key EU summit at the end of the week.
Financials led the S&P sector gainers, while energy slumped.
